Scuba Diving : Diving in Andaman is a unique lifetime experience because diving offers something new for everyone, whether one is a novice, or have been diving for so many years. There is no greater adventure than diving into the fascinating and challenging underwater world of Andaman. One can enjoy an exciting experience of underwater marine life, colorful fishes, rare & variety of coral reefs & mysterious sunken ships. The best season for diving is from December to April. The Scuba Diving centers have all the facilities and necessary equipment’s for a great experience of scuba diving. Adding to this there are many skilled trainers who can help the tourist in getting into the deep of the sea. Have lock Island is another major Scuba Diving Center.
Snorkeling : Equipped with a mask, snorkel and fins, Snorkeling in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands offers the experience of studying the exotic wonders of the coral reefs where one can enjoy the under-water marine life and view the rarest varieties of corals. Snorkeling is an adventure activity which is very popular off the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Underwater, a kaleidoscope of coral colors showcase a variety of reef fishes, turtles, sharks and rays. The underwater corals in Andaman island beaches are extremely colorful. One can experience the live corals at Jolly buoy, red skin, North Bay etc. Many visitors never had seen fish in such densities before and are bewildered by the sheer numbers of the fish in the vast shoals that populate the reefs.
Ross Island : Ross Island of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is spread over an area of 0.6 square kilometers and is approachable through ship from Port Blair to Phoenix Bay jetty from where one has to take a short boat journey to the main island. It was titled as the "Paris of the East". It is thickly covered by a wide range of fauna and flora. Most of the ancient buildings and monuments have been destroyed by the 1941 earthquake that rocked the island and brought everything on a stand still at this picturesque locale. This island had been the administrative headquarters of Britishers at some point of time.Now a days, Ross Island at Andaman and Nicobar Islands are under the supervision of the Navy. At Ross Island, one must check out the golden days of the island at the small museum of the Indian Navy named "Amritsar".
