Established in 1935 Declared as National Park in 1955 Declared as Tiger Reserve (including Andhari WLS) in 1995 Part of Project Tiger Total Area : 1701 sq.kms Distances (Transport): By Air: Nagpur airport is 205 km. away via Chandrapur; 140 km. via Chimur. By Rail: The nearest railhead is Chandrapur, 35 km. from the park. Wildlife: Tadoba is famous for its Tiger population but the forest is full of other wildlife too! A short visit to the park will leave you wanting for more and some more… Mammals: Tiger, Leopard, Wild Dogs, Sloth Bear, Chital, Sambar, Muntjac, Nilgai, Gaur, Wild Boar, Hanuman Langur and much more. Birds: Over 200 species of birds have been documented from Tadoba. Eagles, Owls, Kingfishers and Storks are some of the attractions. Reptiles: Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, Calotes, Chameleon and Snakes are found commonly. Butterflies: Over 75 species of Butterflies are found at Tadoba. Flora: Ghost Tree, Mahua, Ain, Bamboo, Teak and Bahava are attractions along with a lot more plant life. Camp Objectives: Reading and communicating with the forest. Exploration and observations of flora and fauna. Introducing participants to the joys of Indian Wildlife and helping them in becoming a Jungle Detective.

Event Details


Day 1 - Arrival
  • Pune campers to report at the main porch of Pune Railway station at 1600 hrs. Board (12113) Nagpur Garibrath at 1740 hrs. Mumbai campers to report at CST at 1130 hrs. Board (16339) Nagarcoil Exp at 1210 hrs for Pune.
  • Early morning flight to Nagpur from Mumbai/Pune
Day 2 - Two safaris
  • Arrival Nagpur at 0945 hrs & transfer to Wildlife resort. Lunch & Orientation followed by Afternoon Jungle Safaris to view wildlife – wild boars, jackals, jungle cat, sloth bear, leopard, gaur, tiger.
  • Post trail discussions, games, sky watch.

Things To Carry

  • One haversack and one small shoulder bag.
  • Comfortable clothes for the entire duration of the Camp. (Track Pants, T-Shirts, etc preferably in shades of Deep Blue, Green, Dun or any other camouflaging colors)
  • [Avoid Jeans]
  • Suitable nightwear.
  • Personal Kit for toiletries, Towel.
  • Sport Shoes, Socks, Floaters, Sun cap/ Hat, 2 water bottles.
  • Sun Screen, Cold Cream, Odomos, etc.
  • Torch with fresh batteries.
  • Sun glasses, camera, binoculars, (optional at your own risk).
  • A bird book, field guide (if available).
  • Personal medicine, if any, with a note explaining doses, time, quantity etc. with the name of the child. No need to send any extra medicine.
  • Pen and a small diary. (Highly Recommended).
  • Around 3000/- for meals during travel and for shopping.
  • Please don’t send Mobile phone, music player etc. with the child.
  • An Original ID Card with a color copy is mandatory for Jungle Safaris. (School I-Card/ Adhaar Card/ Driving License etc).
