Event Overview

Ratangad is a hill fort near Ratan Wadi, This time we are going to ascend Vai Sandhan Valley and this is going to be exciting .Overlooking one of the oldest artificial catchment areas. The fort is about 2000 years old. Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called Nedhe or Eye of the Needle. Ratangad was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle and was one of his favorites. The base village Ratanwadi has an Amruteshwar temple which is famous for its carvings. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardara dam is built on this river.

Schedule

Day 1 - Trek To Ratangad : Trimbak Darvaja Via Samra
  • Board the train from CSMT by 06:25 pm reaching Kasara by 08:39 pm. Meet the leaders and further proceed to base village. Reach Samrad by 11:45 pm. Freshen Up and start trekking. After Introduction and briefing session, start ascending via Trimbak Darwaja. Reach at the top by 04:00 am. Rest till the dawn.
Day 2 - Visit Amruteshwar Temple
  • Early morning wake up call and explore the Cave and fort. Enjoy the picturesque of the Ratangad “Nedha”. Have breakfast and start descending to Ratanwadi. En-route visit Amruteshwar Temple. Have Lunch and proceed back to Kasara

Terms & Conditions

Alcohol and smoking is strictly disallowed on treks. If found, trekking under influence of drugs or drinks you’ll be barred from the trek. And our responsibility ceases with you.
Littering is strictly not allowed on treks. Do not leave empty plastic bottles, biscuit or chocolate wrappers behind. We have to carry our own garbage/leftovers back to the city.
Wear proper loose fitting clothes no jeans pants allowed. Try and wear full sleeve top and long bottoms or pants. Will spare you from mosquitoes, insect bites or thorny bushes (your choice).
Talk to the native villagers gently and give respect to them. Cause we are their guests.
Do not carry lots of cash, gold or any valuables. We are not responsible for the loss.
