Bhimashankar via Ganesh Ghat

2 Days1 Night

Event Overview

Bhimashankar is located in Ambegaon Taluka of Pune District. It is 213 kms and 110 kms away from Mumbai and Pune respectively. Bhimashankar is famously known for the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva.

There are two routes to Trek Bhimashankar one is via Shidi Ghat (Ladder Route) and the other is via Ganesh Ghat (Ganesh Temple). Shidi Ghat is considered dangerous during monsoon thus many trekkers prefer Ganesh Ghat as it is easier and offers beautiful views of the surroundings. The trek through Ganesh Ghat is through Dense Jungle where you have to pass through various waterfalls and water streams. The view of the vivid shades of green, nearby waterfalls and Padargad also freshens you up in after a decent hike.

The local villagers consider this trek more of a cultural tour. As it is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, many devotees populate this area on the eve of Mahashivratri. For Trekkers and Photographers, it is a paradise during Monsoon till March. Thus, the best time to trek Bhimashankar is during Monsoon and Early Winter Season.
