Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan
1 Day
Event Overview
Ranthambore National Park is located in the Sawai Madhopur District of southeastern Rajasthan, approx. 130 km. away from Jaipur. Formerly, a major hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, this forest now attracts wildlife tourists and photographers, because of its huge variety of birds, animals and reptiles. The most attractive feature of this forest is the diversity of terrain and abundance of water bodies.
Tigers are a plenty here which boosts your chances of sighting them.
Ranthambore is the best place in India to see these majestic predators in the wild. Although it is primarily considered a tiger haven, it is home to a variety of other animals such as the Sloth Bear, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Sambhar, Chital and the Leopard. The forest has large open spaces, which makes it easier for the tourists to click stunning photographs of the tiger! The best location to shoot a tiger (with a camera of course!) is the Ranthambore fort. The sight of the tiger sprawling amongst the beautiful ruins is a sheer bliss! Not only that, this park is a great place for bird-watching with over 220 recorded species of birds including species like the Greater and Lesser Spotted Eagles, Indian Skimmer and the White-Rumped Vulture. The formidable fort, which towers over the entire park, makes Ranthambore a classic blend of history and nature!
