Kohoj, the hill fort is situated in Palghar region. One can see this fort while traveling on Mumbai-Ahmadabad highway near Manor Naka. This fort is at about 12 kms from Wada.

We will be taking the route which starts from Waghote. This village is located on Manor-wada route at around 8 kms from Mumbai-Ahmadabad highway. One can reach to the top of Kohoj within 3 hrs from the base village. We can find the name of Kohoj in the list of those 23 forts, which were surrendered by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Purander treaty with Mughals on 11 June 1665.

Day 1 - Kohoj Fort Trek
  • Catch early morning train from CST at 5.34 am and Meet at Kalyan Station 7.00 am. Journey towards Wada by jeep from kalyan to Vaghote Base village Reach at 9.30 at Vaghote Start trek after Breakfast it will take almost 2 to 3 hours reach at top of the fort exploration which includes :
  • Temple of Lord Shankar
  • Water cisterns.
  • Historical remains.
  • Hanuman Temple.
  • Temple of Lord Krishna.
  • A man-shaped pinnacle is one of the greatest wonder of nature’s creation. This is the most attractive place on the fort. We will have group lunch near water source. After Lunch, enjoy the Photography and view from the top. Start descending & reach at base village. Have tea snacks at Wada and drop at Kalyan station .Tour Concludes with Happy Memories

  • Rainwear (Jacket / Ponchos ) or Winter wear (Jackets, warmers or sweaters) – (as per season).
  • Carry your own glass, bowl, spoon and plate (if necessary)
  • Extra Pair of Clothes (as per schedule)
  • Sleeping bag / mat / bedsheet (as per schedule)
  • Slippers (optional – at the end of day / trek so that your feet can relax).

Terms & Conditions

Alcohol and smoking is strictly disallowed on treks. If found, trekking under influence of drugs or drinks you’ll be barred from the trek. And our responsibility ceases with you.
Littering is strictly not allowed on treks. Do not leave empty plastic bottles, biscuit or chocolate wrappers behind. We have to carry our own garbage/leftovers back to the city.
Wear proper loose fitting clothes no jeans pants allowed. Try and wear full sleeve top and long bottoms or pants. Will spare you from mosquitoes, insect bites or thorny bushes (your choice).
Talk to the native villagers gently and give respect to them. Cause we are their guests.
Do not carry lots of cash, gold or any valuables. We are not responsible for the loss.
