Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh
6 Days5 Nights

Event Overview

The central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh boasts of good forest areas – which are also excellent tiger habitats. Hence one can see a variety of wildlife which includes Barasingha, Barking Deer, Chital, Gaur, Hyena, Jackal, Jungle Cat, Leopard, Sambar, Sloth Bear, Tiger, Wild Dogs and many more mammals along with a huge diversity of migratory as well as resident birds which are in plenty at Kanha National Park

You are able to explore the park in safari vehicles, which cover over 50 – 70 kms of forest roads in each safari. Kanha is an excellent place to spot wildlife but it is your observation skills that will actually help you sight these animals in the wild. Your eyes have to be sharp and ears alert to look out for movements and to listen to calls, as the prey and the predator both rely on camouflage. Alarm calls and smells can actually make the search even more exciting.

The Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh came into being in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The Park's landmark achievement is the preservation of the rare hard ground Swamp Deer (Barasingha), saving it from near extinction. Stringent conservation programs for the overall protection of the Park's fauna and flora, makes Kanha one of the most well maintained National Parks in Asia.
