Event Overview

Dudhsagar Falls (literally Sea of Milk) is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Madgaon-Belgaum rail route about 46 km south of Madgaon and 60 km north of Belgaum. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India's tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m(1017 feet) and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet). The falls is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park amongst the Western ghats. The waterfall forms the border between Karnataka and Goa states. The area is surrounded by a deciduous forests with a rich bio diversity. Event Details


Day 1 - Departure to Dudhsagar
  • 03:30 p.m. – Meet Team Sahyavede at Pune Railway Junction.
  • 04:25 p.m. – Departure to Dudhsagar by ‘Goa Express.’
Day 2 - Start the Trek towards Dudhsagar
  • 04:00 a.m. – Get down at Sonalium station.
  • Morning Ablutions till the Wee hours.
  • 05:30 a.m. – Start the Trek towards Dudhsagar after Introduction & Instructions Round
  • 07:00 a.m. – Reach the base of the Waterfall & Enjoy our time.
  • 09:00 a.m. – Breakfast at Sonalium.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Trek further to Kulem through the Jungle.
  • 01:00 p.m. – Reach Kulem for Lunch.
  • 04:00 p.m. – Head to Kulem Station for Return journey.
  • Mumbai participants will head to madgaon by train.
  • They will board Matsyagandha Express to LTT-Mumbai & will reach Mumbai by 6:45 am on Monday.
  • 04:30 p.m. – Board the train to Pune.
  • Dinner on Wheels at Belgaon available.

Things To Carry

  • Haversack – This is the most important thing you need.
  • Choose a sack which can sustain the weight throughout the trek.
  • In rainy season, (Make sure that you do not carry any Jholas, one-side bags etc.)
  • We prefer to use a big plastic bag inside the haversack. This helps us to keep the things dry.
  • At least 2 liters of water bottle.
  • It is really necessary to consume the carried water wisely.
  • (you may add Glucon D or energy powder to it)
  • Extra clothes as per the season.
  • Full sleeve clothes are preferred for treks.
  • (Towel, Rain coat, Sun cap, Thermal wears as reauired) *make sure you carry a plastic bag to keep used wet clothes.
  • Trekking shoes – ‘Action Trekking’ is Most preferred pair of shoes for Sahyadri region. If not available, one can wear shoes with good grip.
  • Bedding material – Sleeping bag / Carry mat / Blanket etc.
  • Make sure that the bedding material is not bulky or heavy.
  • Torch with extra batteries
  • Avoid using your mobiles as torch as the mobile might be needed in an emergency. Hence, it is important to save on the mobile battery.
  • Plate, Mug, Spoon etc.
  • We prefer to carry our own plates etc to the forts. (Optional)
  • Personal medical kit
  • A set of medicines for any personal allergies, insect repellents or the medicines as per your doctor’s suggestion etc.
  • You can also carry basic antiseptic medicines, tablets, band-aids, crape, relisprey etc (Optional)"
