Itinerary Day 01:
Arriving at Dehradun railway station and drive to Sankri
A misty morning and a nostalgic feeling, yes this childhood feeling of travelling to a hill station with your parents will capture your mind as you travel across to the lanes of Dehradun, to reach your destination the Railway station, Dehradun in the early morning. Yes, advices are quite clear… time is 6:30 a.m., bag is tightly packed; wollen clothes are sufficient enough to keep you warm in the snow packed mountain pick and cliffs, sports shoes, sunglasses and water bottle. You may choose to keep your fashion quotient intact by also including sunglasses, watches and other electronic gadgets… thought not necessary. A quick introduction and briefing by the local hillbilly mountain climbers from Uttaranchal and you shall proceed with your journey itinerary. A sudden rush of blood down your spine you may feel as you imagine gigantic picks and snow covered mountains to welcome you with open arms in the land of god. Ah… your first stopover is Sankri a little sleepy hamlet lost in the wilderness of metro cities. On your way to Sankri you will come across tiny yet very welcoming roadside restaurants with the sweet smell of freshly cooked vegetables and hand toasted Paranthas, this sweet smell may surely raise your hunger prank from a long hibernation. You may be allowed to address your hunger and call of natures if you can keep up with your watch… As you reorganize and begin your journey post initial break, you shall stop over very briefly for a quick lunch and head straight towards your destination, which is almost 10 hours of the journey from Dehradun. You shall reach Sankri in the late afternoon or in the evening and enjoy the first view of the gigantic mountain ranges and enjoy the beautiful sunset vision. Sankri is almost 1950 metres above the sea level and gateway for your trekking journey. It gives a magical view of the mountains which is the key factor for all the trekkers. After having a healthy dinner, it's time to pack your bags and prepare yourself to start the trekking as tomorrow everything is going to be started pretty soon.

Day 02:
Sankri to Taluka
Good morning Sankri…. So you wake up at the break of dawn as the sudden cold starts gripping your bones, you must look for your nice and a warm cup of coffee and a bucket of hot water. As they say… acclimatization with the high altitude is the key for surviving in the mountain, you may feel you have done so by spending a night in Sankri which definitely will be put to test in the course of your trekking adventure. After having a prescribed breakfast (you my feel heavy breakfast must be essential for day long trekking… this is a myth; it is the prescribed diet which keeps you fit and provides you sufficient energy, which you do not feel pressure in your belly), you will start your trek towards Taluka, your first destination which is 12 kilometres away from Sankri. Yes, you are allowed to carry some energy bars which shall provide your much needed glucose and protein during the course of trekking. Here, nobody can forget to fill your own water bottle and check your bag before head starting your first day trekking. You shall reach Taluka in the late afternoon, and many of you will have the first experiencing of enjoying the first night out under the sky in the tents… A bonfire snacks and may be some folklore and spooky stories shall occupy you for the rest of the evening before you enjoy a nice and hot freshly cooked dinner before going in to your sleeping cocoons with lots of unexplored dreams in your eyes.

Day 03:
Taluka to Osla
You must be feeling to be a proud trekker by now, and as you get up early in the morning and realize that mornings are getting even more fierce and strong, and bones are shivering more and loving a hot drink like never before. Today you shall trek to Osla a destination at an altitude of 2560 meter. Along the way, you shall cross the Siyan Gad by bridge to reach Dhatmir village. Later you will cross the river towards the right side of Ton river. You shall have a spectacular view of lush green vegetation wild orchids, and if you are lucky may you may also have few encounter with the wild life of Himalaya like barking deer, Bore, Leopard etc. You will experience the real challenges with terrain and changing climates as you continue to cruise forward to your next destination Harkidoon. Night will be quiet pleasing as the tents will give you the comfort that you need.

Day 04:
Osla to Harkidoon - 11km - 5 to 6 hours
After reaching this destination, your eyes cannot wait more to view some of the most beautiful scenic beauty of lifetime. Some of the most prominent and beautiful sceneries will make your day as pleasing as you would want ever. As soon as you satisfy your early morning hunger you can get yourself ready for Harkidoon. The trail is all through the way is very pleasing with the beautiful meadows and hilly mountains. After travelling for some 5 to 6 hours, you can hit the plates for gaining some of the delicious dishes to make your mood more cherishing. The trail is a bit steep along the way, and many green fields with some rare and unique flowers will be visible in front of you which will not make you feel so tired by its pleasing ambiance. Towards the end of the trek for the day, there can be many snowy mountains. Some of the beautiful and memorable views of Swargarohini and Juandar glacier can also be visible from the point which is approximately 6200 metres from the sea level. The above mentioned places are considered as one of the most picturesque spot in the hills of Garhwal. As you people reach Harkidoon, camp can be set, and the rest of the day can be spent enjoying the beauty of nature. Night stay is again going to be in camp with lots of enjoyment with your co-trekkers, and you can hit the sack as early as you can as this is not the end of your trek.

Day 05:
Harkidoon to Jaundhar Glacier and back to camp 15kms- 7hrs
After viewing so many mountains with snow and glaciers, it will not be a surprise for you to have some more of them along the way as you will be heading towards Jaundhar glaciers. The day will start from a healthy morning breakfast, and after that you will be busy in packing your bags to go to any one of the parts of Jaundhar glaciers. Including north and south glaciers of Jaundhar the total range is about 55 kilometres fully covered with snow and some tiny little green grasses for which you will be coming for the trek in Uttarkashi. After spending some quality time over the glaciers, you can enjoy the rest of the day in the base camp of Swargarohini prey close to the Jaundhar glacier and enjoy the memorable moments spent some hours ago. Next day you will be heading back to Osla as a return journey, and you can have the same path to reach the destination. Enjoyable night is pretty much guaranteed in the base camp as all the co-trekkers will have their own idea to have some quality time.

Day 06:
Har ki doon to Osla-11 kms-3 hrs
After some of the cherishing moment in Harkidoon, you will be traversing back towards Osla today. It is nearly 11 kilometres far from the current position which means there is some of the work which is to be done. It is not an easy task to travel so long but still the beautiful scenery and the clad full atmosphere will encourage you to keep on trekking towards the prescribed path. The path along the way in not that difficult to traverse, as by now, you all will be familiar with the type of landscape and the terrain behaves. After the end of an exhausted day, you will reach the tents of Osla to spend your night and remove some hamstrings. Ample amount of water and food are required to be consumed or else it may lead to dehydration. Next day you will head towards Sankri and yet can be a beginning of another tedious day.

Day 07:
Osla to Sankri - 26km - 7 to 8 hrs
From Osla get ready and mentally prepared to reach Sankri which is going to be the final destination for the day. It is a very long trek with some uneven climbing covering approximately 26kms, to reach Sankri. Along the trek, you can also feel lucky to view one of the most beautiful sunset with some beautiful birds migrating from one place to another and the sun disappearing somewhere in the snowy mountains. There will be some wild life sanctuary and parks along the way giving you some more invitation to adventure. Many different flora and fauna species will be visible, and it can be a boon for biology students. The environment completely matches with the mood you are up to enjoy your journey. As you reach Sankri, the camp will ready for you to give your body some of the deserving rest ever needed. This is the end of your trek as tomorrow you will be heading to Dehradun on the cab.

Day 08:
Drive back to Dehradun. Reach by 7-8 pm

1. Transport: Dehradun to Sankri and Return.
2. Meals while on trek (Veg. + Egg).
3. All necessary entry fees and permits.
4. Accommodation:- Guest house, Home stay, camping during Trek.
5. Qualified & mountaineering certified trek Leader, Guide and Support staff.
6. First aid medical kits, stretcher and oxygen cylinder.
7. Trek equipments and gear. (Sleeping Bag/Inner/Mattress Tents/Kitchen tent/dinning tent/toilet tent).

Located at the altitude of good 1950 mt, this point embraces some magnificent views of Garhwal Mountains. These mighty mountains covered with snow offer a glimpse of exploration that has just begun. From here, you have to walk on the plain for next 5-6 hours to reach Taluka. Taluka lies at the foothills of Himalaya and is a vast meadow.
